Sometimes I wonder, when a TV star goes home after a hard day’s work at ‘the office’, do they turn on the TV and channel surf? I mean really, what if they find their own show in syndication or if they wind up critiquing the actors. That doesn’t sound like an escape to me.

It is a strange time of year when November in Wisconsin is slightly warmer than November in Sacramento, CA where I am still commuting to work each week. Both places are good right now, so I won’t complain about it. We will see how the rest of November turns out.
I just got back from a wedding for a couple that is in our weekly Life Group. It was a very good wedding with a good reminder on the wonderful institution of marriage. God was definitely present there today.

When arranging my travel plans for the next two week’s training course, I decided I would drive because of the perceived safe and easy route to the the training location (west of Chicago). Well, that was not the case. For the second trip in a row, I had my journey extended by a couple of hours. This time it was due to a bridge being out near Madison, WI that stopped traffic square in its tracks. Here is a news clip of the bridge closure - http://wkow.madison.com/News/index.php?ID=19398
I was able to find an alternate route that took me through some dense fog and I was able to still check in to the training facility before 10pm. I was hoping for closer to 7pm … but, oh well.
Now it is time to rest up a little bit for what training will throw at me tomorrow. It looks like my initial 8am meeting is on the other side of this mini campus, but it will be a much shorter walk than the one I had the last two weeks.
Life’s a journey…

I made it into Chicago tonight after a brutal 7+ hour drive. That is what happens when all flights are canceled out of your hometown - you end up driving slow, but you get to your destination. Thank goodness I didn’t have to be across the country today.
Here are a couple shots from my hotel room. They have me up in nose bleed territory as I requested :-)
I better rest up for another great day of learning how life is like at this new job. I’ll have about a mile walk to get where I need to be in the morning, but I’m hoping for a great Chicago tail wind to push me along. I’m sure there will be a few Starbucks along the way if I need to refuel.
Loving the journey…
